If you follow the instructions on the package, you will make a delicious and classic version of DORO Cheesy Korean Rice Cakes. But what if you want to hook them up with your favorite protein or veggies? It's sooo easy and it's sooo delicious! This recipe is extremely customizable. Sub in or out any of the meat or veggies listed.
Ingredients
1 DORO Cheesy Korean Rice Cakes meal kit
4-8 ounces of your favorite protein (beef, chicken, shrimp, or tofu)
1/2 bell pepper sliced
1/2 onion sliced
1/2 cup carrot, cubed
2 scallions, sliced
1 tablespoon oil (canola or olive)
Cooking Directions
1. Heat a medium sized pan over medium high heat. Add oil and brown whatever protein you are using.
2. Add carrots, onions, and bell pepper to the pan. Continue cooking until vegetables have cooked through. Remove meat and veggies from the pan and set aside.
3. In the same pan, add rice cakes and 1/2 cup of water, and sauce to the pan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. After about 7 minutes, the sauce should begin to thicken into a gravy.
4. Add your protein and veggies back to the pan. Toss to ensure the sauce is fully incorporated. Sprinkle cheese on top. Add sliced scallion.
5. Sprinkle on red pepper & sesame mix to taste for extra heat and crunch.
6. Serve immediately!
* Pro Tips:
- To make the dish spicier, add chopped jalapeno or more gochujang if you have this ingredient in your pantry.
- If you prefer softer rice cakes, simply add an additional tablespoon of water and allow to cook one minute more before adding the protein and veggies.
